CHINAH JAMESON

(SHE/HER)

Despite the prevailing notion that sexual problems stem solely from physical causes, as a holistic sex therapist, I recognize the intricate interplay of psychological, relational and environmental factors. Our perceptions of sexuality are shaped within the complex web of family, religion, culture, media, and sexual experiences. Whether you are experiencing sexual pain and dysfunction, working through discrepancies in desire and intimacy, questioning your sexual orientation or gender identity, exploring kink/BDSM, or untangling shame and empowerment; my comprehensive approach allows me to not only consider the immediate concerns but the underlying systems that foster their development. It is my priority to assist you in challenging the status quo by defining what sexual wellbeing means to you, and reclaiming your sexuality in safe and sustainable ways.

In my role as a therapist, I approach care with a pleasure-centered, non-judgmental, and affirming perspective. I aim to provide a safe, trauma-responsive, and culturally attuned space for exploring your concerns and lived experiences. My style is characterized by compassion, directness, and appropriate humor. I offer integrative psychotherapy, utilizing various therapeutic modalities and tools tailored to each individual's needs, including Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Polyvagal Theory. My work is significantly influenced by anti-oppressive, anti-racist, sex-positive, queer, and feminist frameworks.

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology, with a concentration in human development and neuropsychology, from the University of Washington. After graduating I worked as a milieu counselor at a residential mental health facility, and currently I am pursuing a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, specializing in sex therapy at Antioch University Seattle. Outside of my academic and professional pursuits, I engage in community-building activities like volunteering, hiking, and climbing. During my leisure time, I find solace in reading and crocheting, comfort show marathons, cooking with my partner, and moments of quiet with my pets.

I look forward to supporting you in facilitating the growth and change that you desire.
