ANGELINA MONEIR

(SHE/HER)

Fostering a warm and inviting therapeutic environment with respect to your boundaries and needs through a consent-focused approach, is my commitment to your self-discovery, awareness, creativity, personal transformation, growth, and resilience. Admitting to one’s struggles or vulnerability can be challenging, while reaching out for support can be even more so. You are the sole expert of your experiences.

I hold great excitement for human connections while integrating a relationship to art and the outdoors. Passionate by the power of art and nature, I believe that the merging of psychology, ecology, and art is imperative in balancing our mental well-being, while embracing a relationship with the earth, and a better sense of self.

Providing a space where an individual may need an alternative way of expression, my work with you is not limited to art or eco therapy, but within traditional talk therapy as well.

Through these means, I approach the application of therapy from the primary lens of intersectional feminist theory where everyone receives respect and equitable treatment regardless of demographic. My approach examines through trauma-informed care, in frameworks such as somatic therapy, existential theory, narrative, mindfulness-based, polyvagal, humanistic, Gestalt, HAES, and Internal Family Systems.

Through somatic attunement and demonstration, my approach is the here-and-now, to focus on what is happening in the present moment of your life, your mind, and [possibly] throughout your body. I view the body and nervous system as a site where liberation can occur, while being in touch or in tune with what each person notices within themselves. I emphasize the sense of self, voice, transparency, collaboration, choice, and agency throughout the therapeutic process and relationship building of our therapeutic alliance we have created together.

As a BIPOC individual, I have a wealth of knowledge due to working with diverse populations from children to adults–including but not limited to LGBTQIA2+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent individuals.

I am committed to walking beside you as you discover and create transformation, learn to connect with your center, the world around you, and thrive. Through a non-judgmental, approachable, creative, and curious space – I believe that when we engage in healing individually and within community, we are moving one step closer towards social justice and liberation for all.
