Hi, I’m Julie!

Through general mental health counseling, sex therapy, and art therapy, I work with adults who are navigating the exhausting middle ground of feeling like they’re simultaneously too much for some and never enough for others. I work best with the explorers, the creators, and the folks who live life on the margins of the "norm." Over the last few years, my clinical focus has naturally gravitated towards supporting neurodivergent, queer, kinky, and non-monogamous folks. As someone who identifies as queer and neurodivergent myself, I’ve found that holding space for the vibrant complexity of the humans within these communities is where I do my best work. I consider this my niche not just because of my training, but because of the deep, collaborative work I’ve done alongside my clients.

Therapy with me means having a therapist who speaks your language. Whether you are navigating the nuances of polyamory, deep in the process of exploring your gender and/or sexuality, or untangling the threads of your identity, you won’t have to spend your first sessions explaining the basics of your lifestyle to me. Instead you will be met with an approach that is trauma-informed, intersectional, and radically affirming. There is a specific kind of magic in therapy that treats a person as a complex, multidimensional being rather than a problem to be solved. We can spend time exploring your life, while utilizing art and creative modalities to give shape to thoughts and feelings that don’t have names yet.

My work is about you, as a whole person, which means that I am just as focused on the science of your nervous system as I am on your self expression. Whether we are navigating the weight of a new STI diagnosis or the daily overwhelm of a sensory-unfriend world, I use Polyvagal Theory to help your body feel inhabitable again. I truly love working with intellectually playful souls. Whether your heart is in the arts, mythology, or the intricate details of a lifelong hobby, I celebrate the depth and dedication you bring to the things that make you feel alive.

If you’re looking for a therapist who recognizes that your mental health is inextricably tied to the world we live in, who values systemic change and social justice just as much as your personal growth, I’d love to meet you for a consult call.
