Clinical Intern

All behavior makes sense with enough context, and all beings seek love, connection, belonging, attunement, and dignity. I believe when we are supported in our goals, we can heal and achieve long-lasting and impactful change. My role as a therapist is to co-create a space of safety and attunement: we all need to be supported, held, and witnessed along our healing journeys.

As a queer, trans, neurodiverse, kinky, non-monogamous human, I apply a lens of decolonization in my therapy practice. I understand how important it is for a therapist to hold the complexities of the oppressive systems we live in when providing care - these systems do not serve relationships. I bring a strong foundation in trauma-informed and systems thinking, meaning I view people in the context of their relationships, environments, and the larger cultural and social systems that shape their lives. I deeply value relational depth, cultural humility, and I believe healing is not just personal, but collective.

My therapeutic orientation is grounded in warmth, curiosity, deep care, and the belief that you are the expert of your own experience and journey. I draw from Somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and parts work in general, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), weaving these approaches together. I utilize a combination of insight and experiential elements and both directive and collaborative interventions. I see therapy as a profoundly political and healing space where we can cultivate safety, authenticity, dignity, and connection while exploring power, shame, and protection. New ways of being are made possible through authentic compassion and attunement - I want to help you toward your goals.

I’ve completed the following specialized trainings: the Gottman Method - Level 2, Gender Affirming Care, Advanced Couples Therapy, Abuse and Intimate Partner Violence. I work with LGBTQ+, polyamorous, and non-monogamous clients and I believe that sexual liberation is inherently tied to our collective liberation. We cannot have one without the other. Addressing the shame inherent in our cultural conditioning around sex is imperative to overall wellbeing, healing, and personal growth

My personal background also informs my work: Before entering the therapy field, I spent over a decade as a documentary filmmaker telling stories focused on racial justice, disability rights, immigrant advocacy, mass incarceration, and community-based responses to addiction. This work taught me to listen deeply, ask difficult questions with empathy, and honor the stories people entrust to me - skills that are foundational to therapeutic practice.
