Clinical Intern
You deserve compassion and curiosity. That’s what I’m here for.
I believe that true healing addresses the whole system of the individual. Together, we will work towards integration and understanding of your physical, spiritual, emotional, ancestral, and social experiences, with the aim of helping you move throughout your world with greater peace. We may approach this process through movement, creative expression, meditation, and conversation.
It is not my job to change you to fit my own expectations of what a healthy or well person looks or acts like. Rather, I approach therapy as a creative collaboration between the client(s) and counselor, in which we will discover together what wellness looks or feels like to you. I enjoy working with clients from a diverse range of social and cultural identities. I believe all people deserve compassion and acceptance, and we do not need to see eye to eye on everything in order for me to help you work towards your goals. As in any collaborative process, we may experience disagreements, and I believe this can be just as enriching and generative as the moments where we align.
I am currently in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Antioch University, where I am also working towards a certificate in Trauma Counseling. I received my Bachelors of Arts at Bennington College, where I focused on dance performance, improvisation and choreography. My background in the movement arts greatly informs my work as a therapist. I recently became certified as a teacher of Open Source Forms, which is a somatic and creative modality that offers specific tools (such as movement prompts or guided mindfulness activities) to access depth, courage, presence and freedom. I approach therapy primarily utilizing Person-centered, Multicultural, and Somatic therapy principles.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy playing tabletop games, cuddling my dog (Almond), watching experimental performance art, and being in awe of nature - particularly when a body of water is involved.
I look forward to meeting you!
